Preliminaries During the free consultation, I will describe different types of life story telling. You can then determine which approach best suits your individual style. For example, would you like your story told chronologically, or would you prefer an anthology of anecdotes? Would you like to include photographs or recipes? What will it cost? Because every project is unique, fixed prices are not feasible. I will discuss pricing policies in detail during the free initial consultation. Interview Sessions The interviews will take place at your convenience and according to a timetable we will have established together. I will audiotape the interviews and take notes. Anything you say during an interview but later decide to exclude from the book will not be included. Because this is your life story, you control the content. First Draft Once the interview process is complete, I will write a first draft of your life story. You will have a chance to review it and make suggestions for the final draft. The Finished Book Your personal biography will be a bound book, either softcover or hardcover, in single or multiple copies, as you choose. My goal is to provide a well-written, professionally produced personal biography that you will be proud to own and to share with your family and friends. A Note on Confidentiality I subscribe to the Code of Ethics of the Association of Personal Historians. Anything you say will be kept in strict confidence. I will not share your information or opinions with anyone else unless you ask me to do so. |
